Features for the administrator
Robust, multi-line Windows NT/2000 FAX Server
| FAXmaker includes a native
Windows NT/2000 fax server that runs as a service and does not
require a dedicated computer. Unlike other 'NT' fax products,
FAXmaker does NOT run on Windows 95/98, and has been therefore
optimized to take advantage of security & stability features
unique to Windows NT/2000.
Four fax lines are supported as standard, and can be expanded up to 32 lines per fax server using fax boards or active ISDN cards. |
Native ISDN support
FAXmaker's natively supports ISDN, allowing you to use inexpensive
active ISDN cards and get multi line faxing and inbound routing at a
fraction of the price of using multi line fax boards.
Support for Windows 2000 fax drivers
FAXmaker can use the Windows 2000 fax drivers, which means that
FAXmaker 2000 can share a modem with another comm application such as
RAS. In addition, it supports 2D faxing (faster fax transmission) as
well as boasting wider modem support.
Automated FAX delivery / inbound fax routing
FAXmaker can automatically route incoming faxes to the user’s mailbox
using one of four methods: CSID, DID/DTMF, OCR or Line routing. CSID
determines the recipient based on the FAX ID, DID/DTMF on the basis of
the dialed number (requires DID trunks or ISDN), and OCR by searching
for names and keywords in a fax. Line routing allows faxes to be
routed based on the line they were received on. Faxes can also be
manually routed, or assigned to a network printer per installed fax
port.
Remote user administration & fax server
monitoring/administration
FAXmaker for Networks/SMTP allows you to configure the fax servers and
users remotely, greatly easing the administrative task. Additionally
the fax server status can be viewed from a remote machine using the
fax server monitor.

users or departments. Companies can also make use of billing codes.

Outlook, Notes or Netscape, to send and receive faxes. Furthermore,
users can now use either an email client or the FAXmaker.

optional OCR module, users can also search for a fax by specifying
keywords.

FAXmaker includes an easy to understand COM interface, which allows
you to automate faxing even further by having your application "pass"
the fax number automatically. In addition, FAXmaker has an API that
allows users to send out faxes programmatically by submitting a text
file with recipient information in a designated directory, which
FAXmaker automatically scans and faxes out.
