Kum & Go Tests Interactive Security Cameras by Brad Barth,
from ExecutiveTechnology.com
DALLAS (April 13, 2000) - Convenience store chain Kum & Go
improved security in several of its urban Omaha, Nebraska
locations while testing remote, interactive video surveillance
technology in the stores, according to Steve Kimmes, vice
president of operations for parent company Krause Gentle
Corporation, West Des Moines, Iowa. The technology allows store
managers and company officials to view store operations from their
home computers or other remote locations in real time. According
to Kimmes, employees and customers felt much safer knowing someone
was keeping an eye on the store. "Locations once considered unsafe
are now visited by more families, female consumers and
white-collar people."

Bath & Body Works’ Remote Monitoring Halves Shrink by Denise Power
from ExecutiveTechnology.com
REYNOLDSBURG, Ohio (October 25, 2002) - Having reduced shrink
losses – by up to 51% in some stores – Bath & Body Works continues
to identify locations that can benefit from its video monitoring
solution. The system is currently installed in 65 of the chain’s
1,650 units. Bath & Body Works is a division of Limited Brands,
Columbus, Ohio. Martinez told Executive Technology the decision to
invest in the system was driven as much by shrink concerns as it
was by safety issues. Deployment of the system is limited to
problem stores suffering not only from high shrink rates, but also
crime and safety risks. In addition, Martinez said, Bath & Body
Works has been able to reduce its reliance on security guards,
slashing that line-item expense by 74%.

LAN Camera Technologies:
"I really like the Intellinet 550550, as it provides an excellent
set of features...We have been finding that our customers are using
these products in a variety of situations to address a number of
challenges. While these cameras are not usually 'impulse buy' items,
it is obvious that they offer a great deal of new technology that
can be useful in a variety of situations. While some customers do
find the cost of these products to be a little high initially, once
they see some of the possibilities of how these products can work
for them, you can see their excitement grow over the technology." --
Abi Singh.Pyrinex, as quoted in Tom's Hardware Guide.
"Perhaps the most striking thing you can see from the box is that
Intellinet offers a lifetime warranty for the Network 550550 IP
camera...we were pleasantly surprised with what we found."
